Executive functioning describes a set of cognitive processes and mental skills that help an individual organize, plan, and carry out goals; these skills can be stifled by Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Executive Functioning Coaching is designed to help overcome the difficulties that may arise in relation to these processes, especially amongst those within the neurodivergent spectrum. This type of coaching works to ensure that a client has the skills necessary to grow and develop while building upon previous successes. Among the skills emphasized in this coaching– organization, focus, emotional and behavioral regulation, and time management are individualized for every client.

What sets My Focused Mind’s Executive Function Coaching apart from traditional coaching is the specificity of our work. Unlike other coaching programs that attempt to address general struggles, we focus on ADHD and its related symptoms. Using industry-standard tests and metrics, such as the Brown Executive Function/Attention Scales, we design a coaching program tailored to your needs and goals and do so at your pace.

Coaching sessions are broken down into various stages, which will include face-to-face sessions, as well as communication in between sessions in which clients are supported through text messages, phone calls, emails, or other shared platforms. Body doubling, also referred to as coworking, is also an option. If applicable, we might also collaborate with other providers, which can be discussed.

The coaching program is meant to help clients struggling with the many ways that symptomatic ADHD might hinder their daily functioning. From regulating behavior and emotional response to improving working memory, clients learn the skills needed to live life more fully. By closely working with a coach, clients will develop personalized, realistic goals aimed at making small but sustained changes in many areas of their lives, ranging from relational communication to managing frustrations and anything in between.
